No Poverty, Zero Hunger – Goals #1 and 2
Since 2013, the bank has organized an annual food drive of iftar meals during the Holy Month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, the bank distributes Ramadan boxes to people all over Cairo and rural areas in collaboration with Tahya Masr, Rotary and Sonaa El Kheir.
For the past years, Banque du Caire has been assisting those in need during winter, particularly in Upper Egypt. The bank prioritizes contribution to national development, having proudly donated to funds such as Tahya Masr, collaborating on their winter campaign to provide necessities for survival in cold weather.
Banque du Caire has collaborated with the Misr El Kheir Foundation’s Back-to-School program, which provides essential school supplies to underprivileged children from various governorates in Egypt.
Good Health & Well Being – Goal #3
Egypt's healthcare sector has undergone a substantial transformation to offer state-of-the-art medical facilities and exceptional treatment standards. Banque du Caire has engaged with the Ministry of Health and various medical institutions to support the medical community.
Banque du Caire made significant contributions throughout to support several hospitals such as Magdi Yacoub's Hospital for Cardiology, Ahl Masr Hospital, 57357 Hospital, Al-Nas Hospital, Red Crescent Hospital, Qasr El Einy University Hospital, Ayady El Mostakbal, Mansoura University Hospital and Ain Shams University Hospital. With the bank's support, these institutions could build new campuses, cover operational costs, and purchase top-notch medical equipment.
In partnership with the Orman Association, the bank provided donations to establish solar energy to generate electricity for Dar Shifa El Orman Hospitals, called “Green Energy.” This initiative led to providing free-of-charge oncology treatments in the hospital by creating a safe and clean environment that is free of harmful emissions and reducing electricity consumption costs. In addition, the bank partnered with the Orman Association to fund treatment for cases at Mansoura University Hospital.
Furthermore, in efforts to battle cancer and raise public awareness on the issue, the bank collaborated with Baheya Hospital and Foundation to support the fight against breast cancer. The bank has provided over EGP 100mn and reached 1000 beneficiaries. The bank also launched a volunteering program, with regular planned visits to the hospital and internal awareness campaigns.
The bank has partnered with Al-Nas Children’s Hospital, which is one of the largest and most established medical centers in the Arab region and Africa. The hospital has been actively fighting chronic heart diseases since it opened its doors in 2019. Additionally, the bank has extended its support to 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital by covering operational expenses, providing new equipment, and helping them construct and maintain an arts and music activity room for the children. This initiative aims to improve the psychological well-being of young patients while they undergo treatment.
Quality Education – Goal #4
Banque du Caire proudly serves educational initiatives that increase accessibility and development for individuals in the community. The bank has a firm stance regarding the prominence of the educational sector and its impact on Egypt’s future. Focusing on the improvement of the educational sector in Egypt is critical in increasing potential and economic development. Collaborating with the Federation of Egyptian Banks, the bank strategically partners with local NGOs to construct new elementary and high school campuses in underprivileged areas. Banque du Caire holds education in high regard and recognizes its impact on future generations. Therefore, the bank has sponsored a scholarship program to support higher education and bridge the gap between the demands of the labor market and the shortage of competencies in the technology field. This initiative also aligns with the UN sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030. Under the name "Banque du Caire Scholarship," the scholarship program sponsors exceptional students pursuing degrees in Computer Science Technology, Data Sciences Technology, Network & Cybersecurity, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology Program.
Decent work & Economic Growth – Goal # 8
BdC has aligned its social development agenda with the national strategy to ensure effective community development in underprivileged areas of Egypt. Each year, the Bank supports various partners and projects that directly contribute to the advancement of these communities.
Also, BdC is proud to be one of the first banks to join the presidential initiative “Decent Life” which aims to improve the quality of daily public services provided to citizens in the rural areas.
The bank is actively involved in donating to initiatives that enhance the skills of young people, providing them with the necessary tools to embark on their careers and prepare them to enter the job market. To achieve these goals, the bank utilizes its prominent position in microfinance. Banque du Caire has collaborated with the Misr El Kheir Foundation to provide training and employment opportunities to 210 young adults in the Sohag Governorate. This initiative aims to alleviate unemployment in the region.
In partnership with the Orman Association, the bank launched the Good Loan Project, which aims to finance 2,000 small projects for women and young breadwinners. This collaboration has supported income-generating projects and increased the number of people in Upper Egypt who are included in the financial system.
Reducing Inequalities – Goal # 10
The bank has partnered with the Helm Foundation to launch a project called "SEED." The primary objective of this initiative is to increase the inclusivity of individuals with disabilities in the workplace and provide to enter the labor market successfully.
Providing opportunities for people with disabilities continues to be a priority based on the importance of inclusion. In this regard, BdC partnered with the Helm foundation through a project called “SEED,” which supports the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace and helps them gain competitive advantages. Through the SEED Program, Helm Consulting aims to build an inclusive workplace and marketplace culture that is receptive toward people with disabilities. With 500+ graduates, the SEED program supports disabled people through an end-to-end educational program, preparing them to be ready for the job market.
Additionally, BdC in collaboration with Akhbar Al-Youm sponsored the Touch Your Dream Initiative’s annual festival of the Hope Village Association for “People with disabilities”. The Bank also continued providing regular donations and support to El Wafaa and El Walaa, an organization that helps children and adults with special needs.
Environment – Goals # 12,13,14,15,16
bGreen Initiative was launched in support of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's "Prepare for the Green" campaign, which aims to promote eco-friendliness among Egyptians. Various initiatives have been implemented to raise awareness about environmental issues and to build a more prepared ecosystem to tackle global environmental challenges.
MSMEDA-Turathna Exhibition
- Banque du Caire collaborated with MSMEDA for the "Turathna" exhibition as part of the bGreen initiative. The bank promoted the production of eco-friendly products and the significance of preserving handicrafts and heritage. As a result of this partnership, Banque du Caire featured more than 20 skilled artisans from various governorates at their booth. The exhibition created a lively atmosphere at the event and attracted visitors to the exhibitors while promoting sustainable craftsmanship.
UNDP – Sharm with no plastic
- Banque du Caire funded "Sharm is going single-use plastic bag free"; a campaign launched by the Egyptian Ministry of Environment in cooperation with UNDP Egypt and with Banque du Caire as a main sponsor to ban single-use plastic bags in Sharm El Sheikh. The campaign also aims to tackle the harmful impacts of single-use plastic bags through past and ongoing clean-ups and awareness-raising activities in Sharm El Sheikh, Ras Muhammad and Nabq Protected Areas. These continuous efforts are dedicated to raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices.
Cop 27
- Banque du Caire participated in the activities of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), in Sharm El Sheikh. This participation reflects the bank's leadership in sustainability and its effective efforts to address environmental challenges. During the conference, mechanisms for implementing best practices in the financial sector to combat climate change were discussed, aligning with the bank’s expansion in supporting youth and addressing climate change.

Sustainable Cities and Clean Water – Goals # 6 and 11
Banque du Caire is committed to supporting social development in underprivileged areas of Egypt by collaborating with different organizations and financing various projects that directly contribute to community development. This commitment aligns with the country's strategy to ensure effective community development in underprivileged areas of Egypt.
The bank collaborated with the "Sonaa El Kheir" organization and was among the first to join the "Decent Life" initiative, which aims to develop 12 villages in Nubia, Aswan. In addition, the bank provided professional development training to help build the heritage handicraft industry and create new revenue sources for the most vulnerable communities.
Volunteering Culture
T-sharek is Banque du Caire’s special volunteering program for employees to extend its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts while fostering a culture of community involvement and purpose.
This program empowers employees to actively contribute to meaningful initiatives, such as environmental clean-up drives, packing and distributing food boxes for families in need, and supporting educational outreach in underserved communities.
